Introduction
A Brief History
The Research Institute for Translation Studies (RITS) was originally established as “Translation Research Center” in 2009, following the approval of the Council for the Development of Higher Education on February 2, 2006. It was housed within the Faculty of Persian Literature and Foreign Languages at Allameh Tabataba’i University. In 2013, a proposal was submitted to the same Council to upgrade and rename the center, which was subsequently approved, leading to the creation of the “Research Institute for Translation Studies”. Upon its establishment in 2008, the institute was initially led by Dr. Hussein Mollanazar, now Professor Emeritus, followed by late Dr. Kourosh Safavi. From 2018 to 2021, the directorship was held by Dr. Masoumeh Estaji. Currently, the institute continues its mission under the directorship of Dr. Fatemeh Parham.
